top-eventers-sales-day 2017

Clients from France, Belgium and Germany buy aspirants from our collection

During the Top-Eventers-Sales-Day more than half of the horses offered found a new owner. After the sales event both Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless were able to give a positive summary: "There was a lot of interest shown in our collection. The horses presented themselves really well at not only the photo and video shoot but also during the presentation on Wednesday, resulting in many prospective buyers trying out their favourites during the week leading up to the sale. We would particularly like to thank the sellers who put their trust in us again and gave us their youngsters, we are thrilled that all the Top-Eventers sold have found the best possible new homes.
A total of 8 horses will be moving to new stables in France, Belgium and within Germany. The Top-Eventers Team would like to wish all new owners and riders a lot of fun and of course success!

Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless have been very strict in their selection process and have only chosen youngsters which have passed the necessary health checks as well as having the required percentage of thoroughbred bloodlines in their pedigrees for the collection. In many of the pedigrees there is a combination of some of the best bloodlines and Elamr Lesch is convinced this will fulfill the wishes of his clients: “We have a number of very interesting top quality 4 and 5 year old youngsters, which have what it takes to compete in international sport at top levels in future years, either with professional rider or ambitious amateur riders. The 6 and 7 year old aspirants have in part already got placings up to CCI1* level, so it will be no problem to start the season with them at 1* international events and they are particularly to be recommended for pony riders moving up a level or talented junior riders aiming for this year’s championship events.”

The Story behind the cover picture:

sd-titel

Yet again a client has put pen to paper and shared with us news of their Top-Eventer’s sporting career. Our thanks go to the rider Thomas Bagert and the owner Melanie Jamsek for this wonderful account about their mare “Escapada”, who found a great new home via our Sales Day and has brought a huge amount of pleasure to both rider and owner. We wish you all the best for the coming season!

“Erna” – Discovered at the 2011 Top-Eventers-Sales-Day

“She’s the one!” Escapada, a 4 year old daughter of the show jumping sire Escudo II out of a Lauries Crusador xx dam. This was in 2011 at Elmar Lesch’s and Iris Schless’s Top-Eventer-Sales-Day…..

Looking for something and finding something completely different!

It was supposed to be a 6-7 year old horse with first sporting experience. However due to the excellent presentation of the young mare at the 2011 Top-Eventers-Sales-Days, we choose a younger horse just starting its training.

The first Impressions

Nadine Marzahl, a neighbour of Escapada’s breeder (Norbert Sievers), rode the pretty but slender chestnut mare in the presentation with sensitivity and feeling and Escapada convinced with contentment and easy handling. The feeling that this may be the one was confirmed when we tried her out and together with her friendly character were the deciding factors. The decision was made!

The move to South Germany

Escapada moved to near to Stuttgart. From the very beginning her owner Melanie Jamsek wanted the mare, who was now lovingly called “Erna” , to receive a varied training and not only in a sporting sense. Laughingly Thomas Bangert claims that Erna has two different operating modes. At home she is relaxed and confident, traits most amateur riders wish for, both when out hacking or doing ground work. And at shows? Absolute sport mode!! Thomas Bangert is the one who should know, he has spent the last couple of years carefully but also successfully introducing the mare to eventing, supported by and with tips from none other than Andreas Dibowski!

Well Done “Erna”!

Since 2016 Bangert and Escapada have been riding under the black and yellow flag of Baden-Würrtemberg. The call up of the eventing architect, Thomas Bangert to join the regional team was a logical consequence of their sporting success. The first overseas start in Switzerland resulting in a 5th place in a national team event together with further placings at CIC* level confirming their performance level in 2016.

The slim chestnut has developed into a well proportioned equine athlete. Her trustful eye has remained and she impresses with her jumping ability paired with speed and caution. Erna has also successfully fulfilled the expectations of her breeder. As well as being successful in sport “Escapada – Erna” is simply a horse to enjoy, whether out hacking, going for a walk, on the field, daily contact……..
