Only the best is good enough
The Top-Event-Horse-Auction is an auction for elite eventing horses. It is the only one of its kind in Europe and offers breeders a unique opportunity for marketing and selling their part-thoroughbred horses.

The auctions are run by the Top Eventer GmbH, the managing director of the company is Elmar Lesch, the internationally successful rider and trainer from Bavendorf. The team responsible for the organisation of the auctions is made up of Elmar Lesch, in the role of Auction Manager and Iris Schless for individual customer service.
In recent years, the changes in the requirements and regulations governing Eventing and the outstanding achievements of the German eventing riders with their German bred horses, has led to a significant upswing in marketing possibilities. There has never before been so much interest in German bred eventing horses and this interest attracts customers from all over the world.
Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless are continually searching for and viewing promising young horses and those which fulfil the requirements of a “Top-Eventer” are put together in the specially selected annual collection. If you are a breeder or the owner of a promising youngster we would be very happy to invite you to come to The Riding Centre in Bavendorf to present your horse to Elmar Lesch.

You also have the possibility of introducing your horse to us via our website. Just click on “PferdeOfferte” and you can mail us a short description and if we feel your horse may be of interest to us we will contact you for more information.
There is always a wide range of horses on offer at the auction. In every collection there are mounts for the ambitions amateur, the up and coming junior or pony rider looking for their first horse, as well as for national team riders requiring a new partner for championships. The customers from abroad particularly appreciate the advantage of being able to come to one place and see a collection of preselected horses which have already been put through an extensive vet check. The official presentation of the horses by experienced riders, the grand gala the evening before the auction which gets you in the right mood, the option of being able to try out the horses at The Riding Centre, the expert advice and finally the “After-Sale-Service”, are all elements which make the Top-Event-Horse-Auctions so attractive to our customers.
Not only Elmar Lesch’s reputation as an experienced trainer and internationally successful rider but also his extensive contacts in eventing circles has led to his riding centre becoming one of the Nr. 1 addresses if you are looking for a top quality horse. Many breeders also trust his “know how” and his years of experience as “Pferdewirtschaftsmeister” when it comes to training promising youngsters. Elmar is also a member of the Trakener Association Licensing Committee.
The Top-Event-Horse-Auction took place for the 5th time in 2009 and is on the way to firmly establishing itself in the eventing year. The auction in Luhmühlen has attracted and been attended by riders, trainers and sponsors from all over the world giving it international flair. Many customers and exhibitors, who attended the very first auction in 2005, return every year confirming their interest and their trust in the Auction Team.
The customers are spread out all around the world. The Top Eventers can be seen performing on show grounds in the USA, Australia and Europe. They have achieved numerous international placings as well as national championship wins. Fortunately there is also a lot of interest from German customers and a number of the promising youngsters that have changed hands at the Top-Event-Horse-Auctions have moved to the stables of German national team riders, for example Andreas Dibowski, Beeke Kaack or Michael Jung who was placed 5th riding Don Lovely (Auction 2007) at the National Championships for 5 and 6 year old eventers in 2008.

Not only is the nationality of the customers very varied but also the age of the future riders of the horses sold via the auctions. Due to the outstanding achievements of the former auction horses at the Junior Championship in Warendorf last year, we received a lot of enquiries from people looking for high quality horses suitable for up and coming junior riders. The above average quality of the horses and the varied and balanced content of the collection are important criteria for Elmar Lesch and Iris Schless when looking for potential candidates. The Auction Team and this year’s collection will be available for viewing at the Riding Centre in Bavendorf about four weeks before the auction starts. Make an appointment to come along and try out your favourites. We look forward to seeing you.
